Regional Directory of Training Institutions

Introduction

Health systems reform is an ongoing process and human resource development is the most important input for its sustainability. Standardization of academic and training institutions and laboratory, clinical and field facilities for acquisition of practical skills is essential to upgrade and sustain quality of educational programmes for improvement of health systems. Information and faculty exchange for furthering health professions’ education and research can be promoted by networking relevant fields of study.

Successive inter-country and expert committee meetings have highlighted the need for use of modern information technology to create regional web page related on various medical, public health and allied health sciences to facilitate building capacities of education and training institutions.

2.      To make data available which will directly serve to set standards and criteria in various specialties and training in medical, public and allied health areas.

3.      To serve as an user-friendly on line  compendium or directory of training institutions, programmes, and facilities ready access to information and decision-making or in framing the criteria for selection of candidates, identification of appropriate specialized areas and institutes.
