To promote, develop and manage ICT services for the effective programme development and management in the Member states as well as in the WHO Offices at the SEAR Regional and country levels. Advise member states with regard to the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) aspects of national health programmes.  Specific
Objectives
Development and implementation of Management and Information Systems in order to deliver cost-effective Information and Communications Technology (ICT) solutions that strengthen the efficiency of business processes, introduce better controls, greater accountability and improved decision-making.
Establish State-of-Art Information and Communications Technology (ICT) infrastructure including linking WHO Country Offices to the Regional Office and HQ and development of web portals in order to facilitate sharing information and cost-effective means of communication.
Enhanced computer literacy and implementation of new off-the-shelf software in order to improve utilization of Information Technology by administration, technical programmmes and SEAR Country Offices.
To promote, develop pilots and advise on Information and Communications Technology to National health authorities of the Region in their attempt to strengthen the Health Information System, capable of supporting their national strategies for the use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in the Health field.
