IV Prevention and
staying safe and healthy
Access to
information is an important component of the right to health. Ask for
health-related information from your government, local government and from
health care providers.

States must ensure that information is available and
accessible to everyone. Actively seek information on your health related
rights from international and national legal documents.

Speak Up…Stop
Discrimination. Human rights defenders acting against discrimination, were recognized on Human Rights Day 2010.
Overt or implicit discrimination often lies at the root of poor health
status. Vulnerability to ill health can be reduced through realization of
human rights, so speak out against abuse and violations including
discrimination, exclusion, oppression and violence.
