The
experience from countries in South-East Asia show that the implementation
of an essential package of prevention, care and treatment interventions
involving all sectors of the society in particular the civil society
including people living with HIV/AIDS will have an impact on the HIV
epidemic. It is now recognized that prevention, care and treatment are
mutually reinforcing each other, and that both need to be scaled up
simultaneously to reverse the spread of HIV/AIDS.
